Shoe Collection

SHOE COLLECTION

Let’s work together! We are collecting shoes alongside other churches in the Presbytery of the Western Reserve to help people abroad and to help two local charities. We are collecting shoes through the end of July and there are two DRIVE THROUGH and DONATE dates. Simply collect shoes and bring them to Independence Presbyterian Church. Please feel free to come early and stay for the service. We welcome the opportunity to worship with you!

What: Shoe Drive Fundraiser
Where: Independence Presbyterian Church
6624 Brecksville Road, Independence, OH 44131
Why: To help others (details below!)
Action: Drive through and you can hand us the shoes you want to donate or we can take them straight out of your car!
Dates: There are two! Sunday, 6/26 and Sunday, 7/31
Times: 9:45am to 1pm

Details: Any size/style of shoe is acceptable. (No skates or rollerblades. Please no shoes with holes or tears.) Everything else is good! Anything from flip-flops to boots to cleats to heels to sneakers. Please tie shoes with laces together and rubber-band other pairs if possible. Putting all the shoes in a bag works too. THANK YOU VERY MUCH!

How you are helping: These shoes, which are staying out of landfills, are being collected locally. We are running this fundraiser through Funds2Orgs (http://funds2orgs.com). The shoes are picked up by Funds2Orgs and then distributed to people running micro-enterprises in developing nations (the shoes are used as inventory by small business owners). The church is paid by Funds2Orgs for every pound of shoes collected. In this case, IPC is working with other churches to collect as much as possible and all of the money received for all of the shoes collected will be given to two Ohio charities, Brigid’s Path (brigidspath.org, which helps infants born addicted) and RAHAB Ministries (www.rahab-ministries.org, which is working to counter human trafficking). It’s a win-win-win – the shoes are recycled (and out of closets!), people abroad benefit and local charities are supported. Thank you for your effort!
