Blessing of the Bicycles: June 2

Blessing of the Bicycles: Sunday, June 2

“Acknowledging the uniqueness, longevity and versatility of the bicycle, which has been in use for two centuries, and that it is a simple, affordable, reliable, clean and environmentally fit sustainable means of transportation, fostering environmental stewardship and health, the General Assembly [of the United Nations] decided to declare 3 June World Bicycle Day.” [information from UN.org]

We’ll be trying something new this year, a “Blessing of the Bicycles” to kick off the summer and celebrate World Bicycle Day. You are invited to bring your bikes (and/or helmets) to worship at IPC on Sunday, June 2 at 10:30am for a special blessing during the service.
And on Monday, June 3, in honor of World Bicycle Day, we will meet for a morning bike ride on the Towpath Canalway. If you are interested in joining this bike ride or would like more information please contact Rev. David Wigger
