In-Person Worship Suspended through January

Members and Friends of Independence Presbyterian Church,

This morning the Session of IPC voted to suspend in-person worship for the rest of January.

We will have virtual-only worship for the next three weeks (Jan 17, Jan 24, Jan 31). We are tentatively planning on returning to in-person worship on Sunday, February 7.

The church will be closed during the week, except for essential business and building upkeep. (We will allow AA to decide for themselves.) And we ask meetings to continue to meet virtually during January.

We are all eager to return to in-person worship and hope that we truly see light at the end of the tunnel. The decision was made to allow more time for more of the population to receive the vaccine, and to ensure there was not a post-holidays surge of the pandemic.

And just as he was coming up out of the water, he saw the heavens torn apart and the Spirit descending like a dove on him. And a voice came from heaven, “You are my Son, the Beloved; with you I am well pleased.” (Mark 1:10-11)

Blessings,
